Wedding Trends to Watch For in 2018

It’s hard to believe that we’re already almost all the way through the first month of 2018! If that’s telling of how this year is going to go, then wedding season is going to be here before we know it!

As I get started helping out many couples create the special pieces that will help to compliment their special day, I have been noticing many trends for 2018 that I believe will be seen throughout many weddings to come!

Distinctive Linens

A fantastic trend that is becoming more and more common at events is the unique use of linens and textiles throughout the venue. There are a variety of ways that this can be achieved, ranging from luscious table runners to gorgeous backdrops. They don’t have to cost an arm and a leg either (who needs to buy 100+ linens that will only be used once?!). Check out The BAYITH, Catherine does lovely custom linens and linen rentals.

 Living Installations

Whether it be growing on a wall or hanging from a ceiling, living installations are going to be seen across many weddings this year. The elegance of placing florals in not-so-traditional locations fascinates me!

Unique Place Cards and Escort Cards

One of my favorite ways to add flair to a event or to a wedding is incorporating fun and creative place cards into the tablescape. Not only do your guests get excited about the unique design, but it also serves as a special keepsake for them to take home from your wedding.

Bold Colors

Dark and bold hues are going to be seen throughout wedding palettes this year. Whether it be incorporating colors into your tablescape or tastefully adding a pop of color to your invitation suite, adding unique colors to your special day is a great way to make your wedding non-traditional.

Non-Traditional Dresses

Whether it be the bridesmaids or the bride herself, non-traditional dress is going to become more traditional this year. Think mismatched dresses, non-white bridal downs and even printed patterns!

Extravagant Dessert Tables

To top off the big day, couples are incorporating lavish dessert tables for their guests to divulge in. No more are couples just slicing cake for their guests, but now you can expect to see everything from cake pops to donut walls. Lucky for us guests at the wedding, that means opportunities to try new sweets!
