Calligraphy Commission: Wedding Speech Limerick
I was commissioned by a mother-of-the-bride to pen her limerick as a gift to the newlywedded couple. The poem was written by her especially for the wedding, and read out as part of her speech on the day.
The piece was to be paired with a custom watercolor painting of the wedding venue that she had commissioned from another artist. Owing to the Irish roots of the poem's style, I decided to do the piece in uncial calligraphy, with ombre inks drawn from the colors of the painting.
