Process and Details


There is a project minimum of $250
regardless of quantity. Projects with an estimate over $500 require a 50% retainer to secure it into the studio schedule.

Scheduling and Rush Fees.
Place cards and similar projects for a single event must be planned in advance, with complete lists and materials provided a minimum of 5 days before you need them in hand. Otherwise the following rush fees will be applied:

  • Less than 5 working days: 30% rush fee
  • Less than 3 working days: 60% rush fee
  • Next day turnaround: 100% rush fee
  • Same day turnaround: 150% rush fee
*Any projects that must be completed over a weekend will incur an additional 50% fee.

**If the job is charged the project minimum, the project minimum amount is what will be considered for the rate of the rush fee. E.g. Next day turnaround on a small rush job charged the minimum $250 will be charged a total of $500 (100% rush fee).


Style matching
is priced at the same cost as the most similar style shown above. However if the style matching is much more involved (e.g. mimicking someone's handwriting) an additional flat fee of $200 will be charged.


Sketches and/or mockups
requested prior to contract signing will be charged $50 each.

Materials.
Please provide a minimum extra 15% in quantity in case of spoilage. Prices assume that the paper stock is suitable for calligraphy and that no additional treatment will be required before writing. If you would like me to provide the paper, a sourcing charge of $50 will apply, in addition to the cost of materials purchased.

Delivery.
Clients are responsible for arranging and cost of delivery of items to and from the studio location in New York City. I am able to ship or arrange for messenger services, however the cost will be billed to you.

Errors.
Once you receive the finished pieces, you have two days to inform me of any misspellings. If they were a result of my oversight I will re-do them at no additional cost. Any amendments requested after this time will be considered a new project, and subject to the project minimum. Rush jobs will be subject to a tighter schedule.

Last Minute Services:
For clients in the NYC area who anticipate receiving edits and additions up to the event date, I provide day-before and day-of services to accommodate last minute needs (and give you greater peace of mind!). These services must be booked before the full project begins in order to guarantee my availability. Pricing for these is as follows, though please note the addition of either service does not count towards the project minimum.
  • On-Call Service:
    guarantees my availability to work on additions to the original list (from my studio) the day before or day of your event, during business hours (M-F, 10am–5pm). Pricing is by the hour at $150 per hour with a minimum 1 hour required to book, with no additional per-piece costs. If you require this service outside of business hours it will be charged at $200 per hour. Kindly note that you are responsible for arranging pickup or delivery of these pieces.

  • On-Site Services:
    are provided in-person on the day of your event at your venue to accommodate last minute additions right up until it begins, or even during. Pricing for on-site work is based on time with no additional per-piece costs:
    • $500 for the first two hours
    • $200 per hour thereafter
    • An additional 1 hour will be added for destinations more than 30 minutes from midtown Manhattan.
